Work Visa
Details:
The Work Visa in Mexico is for foreign citizens who have received a job offer from a Mexican company or an organization registered in Mexico. This type of visa allows applicants to legally enter and work in the country, and is managed through the National Institute of Migration (INM). To obtain this visa, the employer in Mexico must submit an application to the INM, and once approved, the foreign worker can apply for the visa at a Mexican consulate. It is important that the employer has a valid “Employer Record”, which is a requirement for processing work visas. The Work Visa is intended for those who will engage in paid work activities within Mexico.
How long does it take?

The estimated time for processing the Work Visa may vary, but it usually takes about 4 to 6 weeks. The employer must first receive approval from the INM, which can take up to 30 business days. Subsequently, the applicant must go to the Mexican consulate to complete the process, which may take an additional 2 weeks.

How long can you stay?

La Work Visa can be granted for a period of up to 1 year, with the possibility of renewal. After the expiration of the first year, you can request an extension or renew your visa for up to 4 additional years. After 4 years, the worker can choose temporary or permanent residence.
