The Family Unit Residence Visa allows immediate family members of Mexican citizens, or of temporary or permanent residents in Mexico, to obtain a residence to live in the country. This visa is designed to bring families together under the principle of family unity. Family members who can apply for this visa include spouses, children, parents and, in some cases, siblings, provided that specific requirements are met. Once approved, the visa grants the applicant temporary or permanent residence in Mexico, depending on the immigration status of the Mexican relative or resident. This visa allows you to carry out activities such as working, studying and residing in the country legally.
How long does it take?


The application process for the Family Unit Visa It may take between 4 and 6 weeks, depending on the consulate or migratory delegation in which it is being processed, as well as on the complete and correct presentation of the required documentation.

How long can you stay?


La Family Unit Visa It can be converted into a temporary residence with an initial term of 1 year, renewable for up to 4 years. If the family member is a permanent resident or a Mexican citizen, you can request the permanent residence from the start, which has no expiration date and allows the applicant to reside indefinitely in Mexico.
